On 1 May , in the South Tyrol in Italy, the VIPs who had escaped their Nazi captors were still not safe. As well as the SS and Wehrmacht, several partisan factions vied for control in northern. On 27 April the prisoners began their final journey to Hotel Pragser Wildsee (see WS!).
